Delivery Policy
For residential deliveries, if no one is home at the time of delivery, our courier will leave the flowers in a safe location where possible. We will never leave flowers in direct sunlight, as this can affect the quality and longevity of your arrangement. If the only available safe location is in the sun, the flowers will be returned to our Manuka store for collection or re-delivery.
For apartment complexes, If the recipient is unavailable and we are unable to leave the flowers in a suitable, shaded and safe location, the flowers will be returned to our Manuka store.
For deliveries to businesses or government buildings, the same process applies. If the recipient is unavailable and the flowers cannot be accepted or safely stored in a suitable location, they will be returned to our store.
A re-delivery option is available for a $19.00 re-delivery fee, or you are welcome to collect the flowers from our Manuka store. Please note that re-deliveries requested after 4:00pm will be completed on the next available business day.
Joanne Flowers is not responsible for incorrect delivery details provided at the time of ordering or for being unable to contact the recipient during delivery.
Status of delivery
Please be aware that we will not notify you upon successful delivery unless we encounter an issue. If you would like to know the status of your order, you are welcome to call us on (02) 6295 0315 and we will update you as soon as we can.
Substitution Policy
Due to the seasonal nature of flowers and factors outside of our control, there may be occasions where we need to substitute some or all of the flowers used in your arrangement or bouquet. This may occur due to local flower availability, seasonal changes, or unexpected supply limitations.
While we strive to source the flowers and colours shown in our website images, availability can vary throughout the year. We do our best to keep our website updated; however, some flowers, colours, packaging, or wrapping may differ slightly from the images displayed.
At Joanne Flowers, we take great care to ensure every arrangement maintains the original design, style, and overall concept selected. Where substitutions are required, we guarantee that replacement flowers will always be of equal or greater value and will compliment the original arrangement.
If you have a specific flower requirement, colour preference, or need your arrangement to match an image exactly, please contact us directly on (02) 6295 0315 before placing your order so we can discuss availability and options.
Flower Care
To help your flowers stay fresh and beautiful for as long as possible, follow these simple care instructions:
1. Prepare your vase
Place your flowers in a clean, appropriately sized vase. Ensure the vase has been thoroughly rinsed and cleaned to remove any bacteria that could affect the longevity of your flowers.
2. Prepare your flowers
Remove all packaging, recycling or reusing where possible. Trim any leaves or foliage that sit below the waterline, as these can encourage bacterial growth and reduce the freshness of your flowers.
3. Trim the stems
Using a clean, sharp pair of scissors or secateurs, cut approximately 1–2 inches from the bottom of the stems at an angle. This allows the flowers to absorb water more effectively and stay hydrated.
4. Choose the right location
Place your flowers in a cool area away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and draughts. Avoid placing flowers near fresh fruit, as some fruits release ethylene gas which can cause flowers to age and wilt more quickly.
With a little care and attention, your flowers will continue to look their best and bring beauty into your home for longer.
Preserved Floral Care
Preserved flowers require a little extra care to maintain their colour, texture, and beauty for years to come.
Keep away from moisture
Avoid placing your preserved florals near water or in humid areas, as moisture can cause colours to fade or transfer and may result in petals becoming translucent.
Avoid direct sunlight
Keep your arrangement away from direct sunlight and strong light sources, as prolonged exposure can cause the colours to fade over time.
Protect from air flow and heat
Avoid placing preserved florals near open windows, air conditioning, heaters, or areas with strong airflow. These conditions can dry out the petals, making them fragile and more prone to breakage.
Handle with care
Preserved flowers are delicate and should be handled as little as possible. Keep arrangements out of reach of small children and pets to help prevent accidental damage.
With the right care, your preserved florals can remain a beautiful feature in your home for many years.
